someone plz help me. is the petshopo owner right? he said to clean the cage 1nce a month. some say 1nce a week!! im not shure wat to do. please write back anyone,

I feel that once a month is way too long leave a cage without cleaning it, at least for my dwarfs. I usually clean my hamster cage at least every two weeks... however, if the cage is smelly before two weeks is up, I clean it as soon as I notice the smell. Just think: if you were your hamster, what type of cage would you want to live in... I know I'd definitely want to live in a clean, fresh smelling one. :o)

hey, i clean mine out at lest once a week! ive got two in one cage so they do start to smell after a week, and like you said if you were that hamster would you want to live in a stinking cage?! lol hope that helps!

i used to clean it once a week but now i clean it after 3 days because my hamster started to pee too much in the cage

i clean mine about once a month but i think it depends on how big the cage is...if the cage is big then clean it once a month but if the cage is small, clean is about every 2 weeks!

Depending on the size of the cage. My 30 long requires cleaning only monthly. It has about 5 inches of Aspen bedding as well as a layer of pelleted bedding on the bottom. More bedding - the cleaner it stays.
My 10 gallons get 3 inches or better of bedding then cleaned every 2 weeks or so.

You should see how dirty it looks and how many turts are in there, and if theres alot you should clean it but if theres not then dont(But i would clean it once a week)
